A unique mechanical story is gaining attention as Shakeel Ahmad, a creator from Multan, Pakistan, continues his efforts to preserve and operate rare historic engines.
Ahmad shares videos of old engines on TikTok through his account @shakeel.713, where his content has attracted a large audience. His main focus is not simply entertainment, but showing people how historic engines were designed, operated and maintained.
Among the machines he works with is a remarkably old black engine that was brought to Pakistan from the United Kingdom in 1874. According to Ahmad, the engine was originally intended for railway use but was later used in agriculture and industry.
Today, the historic machine is still operated for practical purposes, including running a wood-cutting machine and a water pump. The engine produces around 35 horsepower and operates on LDO fuel.
Keeping such an old machine working is not easy. Ahmad says finding spare parts and start.
