Ajoka’s Shahid Nadeem is visiting prestigious Princeton University to direct a staged reading of his English play
“Lawrence in Lahore”, to be performed by the Princeton University students. The performance will be held on 19 November.
Shahid wrote the play in collaboration with Professor Fawzia Afzal Khan and is based on the little-known story of the presence of fabled British spy Lawrence of Arabia. The play has been performed in Lahore, NYU Abu Dhabi and Montclair University, New Jersey.
Shahid will give a talk on “Theatre under authoritarian rule” at Princeton Public Library on 16 November and speak at receptions in New Jersey and New York.
On his way back, Shahid will visit London to give a talk on “Sufism and Theatre’ at Pakistan High Commission on 25 November and speak at an event on 29 November, organized by London Literary Circle in his honour.
