Every year brings songs that capture a moment — the ones we replay, share, sing along to and keep coming back to. With 2026 well underway, Spotify’s editorial team has curated “The Best Pakistani Songs of the Year So Far 2026,” bringing together 50 tracks that have stood out across Pakistan’s evolving music scene.
From introspective pop and poetic ballads to experimental sounds, nostalgic reimaginings and Pakistani hip-hop stepping onto the global stage, the playlist captures some of the sounds and stories that have defined the year so far. Here are five of Spotify’s editorial team’s favourites.
1. “Khasara” by Abdul Hannan, Samar Jafri
“Khasara” by Abdul Hannan and Samar Jafri tops Spotify Editorial’s mid-year picks with a refreshingly self-aware take on heartbreak, one rooted in accountability rather than blame. Its understated production leaves room for the poetry to take centre stage, offering the kind of emotional reassurance that keeps listeners coming back.
2. “Har Baar” by Murtaza Qizilbash, Samar Jafri
In “Har Baar,” Murtaza Qizilbash and Samar Jafri deliver a moving ballad that places poetry at the heart of the song. Set against a slow-tempo arrangement, its powerful shayari explores yearning and vulnerability with an honesty that feels melancholic yet still holds onto the hope of reunion.
3. “Tu Hai Wohi” by Asim Azhar

“Shikaar” by Talha Anjum, Talhah Yunus, and Jokhay (Young Stunners) brings Pakistani hip-hop onto the global stage through a significant international collaboration packed with sharp bars, wordplay and layered production. For longtime Young Stunners fans, the track also carries echoes of the duo’s angsty classics such as “Afsanay” and “Two Tone.”
5. “Bewajah” by Hasan Raheem, Umair
On “Bewajah,” Hasan Raheem and Umair create a moody, experimental portrait of two lovers caught in emotional limbo. The song unfolds through two distinct perspectives — hers and his — giving each lover space to tell their side of the relationship. The track takes another unexpected turn as Hasan croons in Shina, adding another cultural and sonic layer to its tender songwriting.
Across Spotify Editorial’s top mid-year picks, a few themes emerge. Vulnerability and emotional honesty remain central to Pakistani songwriting, with artists exploring heartbreak, accountability, longing and love through increasingly personal storytelling. Poetry and shayari continue to command space, while artists are simultaneously looking outward — sampling and reimagining classics, experimenting with contemporary production, weaving regional languages into their music, and taking Pakistani hip-hop into increasingly global collaborations.
