LAHORE: World’s largest hockey stadium in Pakistan, the “National Hockey Stadium”, also started collapsing due to lack of maintenance as the stadium’s chairs, stands, floor are damaging and the turf has already gone unfit for play.
The Nishtar Park Sports Complex Lahore was the largest hockey stadium in the world. However, due to the negligence and carelessness of the management, the stadium is now in ruins. The national game has been declining in the country for a long time. Like hockey, the largest stadium is slowly being destroyed. The stands of the stadium are in a state of disrepair due to lack of cleanliness.
The chairs in the stadium are crumbling, their colors have faded and the turf of the National Hockey Stadium is not fit to play, which is why the National Camp Grounds are at number two. Surprisingly, the offices of Sports Board Punjab and Pakistan Hockey Federation are located in these stadiums and all the administrative matters of the stadium are with Sports Board Punjab.
