Mr. Saleem Khan Tanoli, Vice President – Asia Advertisement Association (AAA) and Former Sr. Vice President – German Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GPCCI) congratulated the Government of Pakistan following the announcement that the European Union (EU) had officially extended Pakistan’s Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP Plus) status for an additional four years, ensuring its continuation until 2027. This significant decision comes as a testament to Pakistan’s dedication to upholding human rights, labor standards, and environmental protection.

The GSP Plus status has played a pivotal role in fostering trade relations and economic growth between Pakistan and the European Union, enhancing our export opportunities and creating a favorable business environment. This extension is a vote of confidence in Pakistan’s commitment to the principles of good governance and sustainable development.

Mr. Saleem Khan Tanoli, lauded the Government of Pakistan on this remarkable achievement. Having served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Relations – The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) he suggested that with the renewed GSP Plus status, Pakistan should focus on continuous improvements in human rights and labor standards. Strengthening collaboration with EU stakeholders and enacting policies that support sustainable growth are key to further solidify the country’s position as a reliable and responsible trading partner, he added further.

The extended GSP Plus status provides an excellent opportunity for Pakistan to continue building on its progress and reinforcing its commitment to global standards.
