Society of Actuaries Launches Global Access Pilot Program in Pakistan

Karachi (Muhammad Yasir) The internationally-renowned Society of Actuaries (SOA), based out of the United States, has announced the launch of its SOA Global Access Pilot Program in Pakistan, aimed at improving the accessibility and affordability of actuarial exams on a global scale.

As part of the SOA’s strategic plan to accelerate growth in Pakistan, the SOA recognizes the need to address cost competitiveness in the actuarial profession’s global landscape. To this end, the regional pilot program helps reduce financial barriers to the Associate-level pathway and encourages the expansion of the actuarial profession in Pakistan.

The pilot program introduces a three-tiered pricing structure as classified under World Bank income tiers. All candidates and members living in Pakistan already qualify for an international discount on ASA modules, which is being applied to all ASA components at a consistent 20% off as of October this year. The additional discount is being piloted for Pakistan with the hope of further expansion in the future.

“The SOA Global Access pilot program represents a pivotal step in our commitment to making actuarial exams accessible to candidates worldwide,” said Andy Peterson, FSA, MAAA, FCA, Managing Director, International at SOA. “We believe this program will not only reduce financial barriers but also attract and support diverse talent in the actuarial profession,” he added.
