Lahore (Muhammad Yasir) Veteran Journalist, Peace activist and Human Right Campaigner Ibn Abdur Rehman, known as I.A. Rehman was the leader of human right activists of Pakistan.
He was a guiding force for young the human right workers, role model for young journalist and staunch believer of having peace and brotherhood with all neighbors. His demise is an unrepeatable loss for Pakistan society. According to the Human Rights Office, Rehman was born in India in 1930 and served as an editor for several influential publications.
Rehman started working at a young age and contributed in various capacities in a golden career spanning over 6 decades. He worked as editor of the Pakistan Times before joining the HRCP in the early 90s, first as director and later as secretary general. He will be warmly remembered as a defender of myriad human rights, most urgent among his priorities being the fight for equality and justice for Pakistan’s women and minorities.
