The Pakistan International Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 concluded at the Lahore International Expo Centre after attracting more than 300,000 visitors over three days, bringing together leading automobile manufacturers, auto-parts producers, dealers, industry experts, government representatives and automobile enthusiasts.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the three-day exhibition, which featured leading automobile manufacturers and auto-parts companies. Several manufacturers established dedicated stalls, with some using PAPS 2026 to introduce new models, while others showcased vehicles launched shortly before the event.
Among the major attractions were new models unveiled by BYD, Chery, JAC and Suzuki, which received considerable attention from visitors and automotive enthusiasts.
Senior government officials from the Government of Punjab and Government of Pakistan also visited the exhibition, including Punjab Minister Bilal Yasin, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Haroon Akhtar Khan, along with several advisers and senior representatives associated with the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab.
The PAPS 2026 Gala Dinner was attended by Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani as Chief Guest, bringing together government officials, business leaders, diplomats, automobile manufacturers and industry representatives.
An automotive industry symposium held during the show provided a platform to discuss the latest technologies, innovation, localization, manufacturing capabilities and emerging trends in the automobile industry. Key industry players shared their views on technological advancement and the future growth of Pakistan’s automotive sector.
Usman Aslam Malik, Chairman PAAPAM, said the strong public response demonstrated the importance of the automotive and auto-parts sector and highlighted the opportunities available for industry growth, investment and technological development.
Nabeel Hashmi, Chief Organizer PAPS 2026, emphasized the importance of localization, saying:
Localization is an important pillar of any automotive industry in any country. Pakistan needs to ensure this for job creation and technology upgrading of Pakistan’s industrial landscape.
He said PAPS 2026 provided a platform for local manufacturers, international brands and industry stakeholders to showcase their capabilities and exchange ideas on the future of the sector.
Salman Saleem, Convener PAPS 2026, said the participation of leading manufacturers, auto-parts companies, government representatives and the public made the event an important platform for showcasing innovation and strengthening industry linkages.
The organizers said the successful exhibition demonstrated strong public and industry interest in new automotive products, technologies and opportunities, while providing valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration across the sector.
With more than 300,000 visitors, new vehicle unveilings, participation from leading brands, high-level government engagement and industry discussions, PAPS 2026 concluded as a major showcase of Pakistan’s evolving automotive industry.
