Dow University Hospital emerged as the champions of the Modern Premier League (MPL) Season 3, defeating Indus Hospital in a thrilling final to secure the coveted title.
Batting first, Dow Hospital posted a competitive total of 82 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. In response, Indus Hospital fought valiantly but managed 76 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, falling short by 6 runs in a closely contested match.
Organized by The Modern Hospital in Karachi, the league featured participation from over 24 leading hospitals across the city, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among healthcare professionals. The initiative aimed to provide a positive and engaging platform for individuals associated with the medical field.
The winning team was awarded a trophy along with a cash prize of PKR 300,000, while the runners-up also received a trophy and cash reward. Semi-finalist teams were recognized with prizes, and outstanding players of the tournament were honored with shields for their performances.
The final match was attended by a large number of hospital administrators, management representatives, and staff members. The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Ghani Sheikh and Director Operations of The Modern Hospital, Colonel Dr. Sohail Abbasi.
On the occasion, representatives from various hospitals congratulated The Modern Hospital for successfully organizing the league and appreciated the initiative for promoting a positive and healthy environment within the healthcare community.
