Ajoka Dosti International Theatre Festival Alhamra, Lahore 9-17 November • 12 countries, 12 performances • Gaza Monologues, A tribute to the valiant people of Palestine will be presented in place of the Lebanese group, who may not be able to participate due to Israeli attack. • A highlight of the festival will be Rani Jindan, a play based on Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s illustrious wife. It is an Australia/India coproduction. • A series of posters will be produced during the festival. • Government of Punjab had endorsed the festival and Lahore Arts Council is a partner for the event. • A team of volunteers is working alongside the festival team to help prepare for the festival • Besides daily indoor programs, daily outdoor events will be held outside Alhamra Hall 1, including folk dances, dhol and drum circles, folk theatre, comedy acts and qawali will be held. • An international panel including top theatre practitioners from India Iran, Italy, USA and China will be held on 15 November. • Workshops on theatre, mask making and visual comedy will be held in Alhamra, NCA, GC University and Kinnairds College. • a special documentary on Ajoka will be launched at the festival. • Internationally acclaimed dance artist Wahab Shah will perform at the opening ceremony.
