ISLAMABAD: The exchange rate of Pakistan rupee weakened by 20 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs 158.37 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 157.17. According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 158.2 and Rs 159.2 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro was depreciated by 14 paisas and closed at Rs 187.62 against the last day’s trading of Rs 187.76, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.42, whereas an increase of 32 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 219.44 as compared to its last closing of Rs219.12. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 05 paisas each to close at Rs 43.11 and Rs 42.23 respectively.
