LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has set up a `Women Empowerment Cell` at its headquarters here and its regional directorates to facilitate women complainants.

ACE Director General Gohar Nafees said the cell would deal with women`s issues related to inherited property, gender discrimination in job opportunities and posting, transfers, besides illegal occupation of their properties.

He said a social awareness campaign titled `Women Empowerment with ACE` was also being designed for maximum outreach.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Saturday arrested one Hafiz Zahoor Ahmed alias Arshad Ali for fraudulently preparing purchase documents of one-kanal plot of a retired teacher, Azhara Zafar, depriving her of the property in Multan.

The teacher had requested the premier and Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab head on social media for helping her take back the plot from the land grabber(s).

The DG took notice and directed the Anti-Corruption Establishment Multan region Director Haider Watoo to look into the matter. Subsequently, the suspect was arrested who had got the plot sold to a third party on the basis of fake documents.
