The Pak International Business Forum (PIBF) has welcomed the recent Iran–United States dialogue facilitated through Pakistan’s mediation, describing it as a timely and much-needed step toward de-escalation and regional stability. In an official statement issued on Thursday, PIBF President Dr Mushtaq Mangat said, “Pakistan has once again demonstrated its strategic diplomatic relevance by effectively bridging communication between key global stakeholders. This initiative not only strengthens regional peace prospects but also reinforces Pakistan’s credibility on the international stage.” Echoing similar views, Secretary General Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer stated, “While the dialogue is a positive development, it must now lead to tangible outcomes, particularly the easing and eventual lifting of economic sanctions on Iran. These sanctions have long hindered regional economic integration and energy cooperation.” Chief Organiser Muaz Qazi emphasized the urgency of economic follow-through, adding, “Pakistan must be fully prepared to act the moment there is any relaxation in sanctions. Immediate progress on the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline is critical, given the country’s worsening energy crisis.” The Forum highlighted that access to affordable gas through the pipeline would play a pivotal role in addressing chronic energy shortages, reviving industrial activity, and stabilizing the broader economic environment. It stressed that a reliable energy supply is essential for sustainable growth and enhancing export competitiveness. PIBF further called for advance planning, policy clarity, and institutional readiness to ensure swift execution of the project once external constraints are eased. The Forum cautioned that any further delays could result in missed strategic and economic opportunities. Reiterating its position, PIBF underscored that effective diplomacy must be complemented by timely and decisive economic action to fully capitalize on emerging regional developments.
