Log Kya Kahengay brings back real charm of a TV play!

Lahore  (Muhammad Yasir) “Log Kya Kahenge” new drama serial recently started on ARY digital has left string impact on audience mind from first episode. The play stared on 25th July is based on moving story of a loving family who faces the worst reality of life when the breadwinner loses his job.

Directed by Mohsin Mirza and written by Soofia Khurram, it features Saheefa Jabbar and Aijaz Aslam in key roles. The serial will also mark the comeback for famous duo Aijaz and Faysal Qureshi, after what seems like a long time and other actors include Kinza Razzak,, Sakina Samo, Afshan Qureshi, and Humera Zaheer.

Aijaz Aslam has portrayed the role of Haseeb, a loving husband to Saheefa Jabbar Khattak who is willing to go to any lengths to fulfil his family’s needs and wishes. However, when a crisis hits, real story unfolds that how he will manage things. Due to the financial crisis, everything takes a turn for the worst, not just for him but his family.

“This is a project that I have been really excited about – the story, production, direction, and the amazing cast really made this one of the most enlightening experiences for me,” revealed Aslam during promotion of the play.

“I had a great time sharing the screens with Faysal once again and really enjoyed playing Haseeb, so I hope the audience would like watching him on the screens as well!”

“After Beti and Bhool, this is my third project with director Mohsin Mirza,” Saheefa lead actress of the play shared. “I am essaying the character of Meerab, who is happily married and well settled in life. Meerab comes from a well-off family; however things take a turn for the worst when her husband, Haseeb, loses his job.” The actress went on to say that the serial is about the struggle of this couple who is madly in love with each other.

Commenting on the storyline, the director Moshin Mirza mentioned that it would be centered on the journey of the female lead, as she faces trials and tribulations after her husband’s death.

The drama will also be a commentary on the double standards faced by a woman in our society in comparison to a man, especially a widowed woman. Mohsin added that he wanted to direct this drama series as it was a very prevalent issue which we, as a society need to address and have and open, honest conversation about.

The first episode of the play has received great response from the audience and they are thanking that finally they are able to witness a strong drama like the legacy of Pakistan television. The story doesn’t have cheap affairs or baseless plot of marriage, divorce, extra marital affair or Saas Bahu fight etc but it revolves on a mature plot which reflects the real issue of the modern society.
