Inauguration of COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign for Afghan Refugees

Karachi (Muhammad Yasir)  A Vaccination Campaign was formally inaugurated jointly by Madam Minister of Health and WHO Representative Pakistan for marginalized population in Karachi Division with special focus on the Afghan refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The drive will cater all those who are unable to get vaccinated through the regular process, i.e. through Sindh government CVCs operational throughout the city. WHO is providing support for vehicles, human resource (male and female skilled immunization staff, assistant and LHW/CHW or community worker) and logistics for outreach of COVID-19 vaccination. The service will also provide health education, social mobilization, VPD and AEFI surveillance and curative facilities. WHO is supporting Department of Health for integrated health services and COVID-19 vaccination in districts of Karachi, Sindh. WHO is committed to support essential health services and for the strengthening of COVID-19 response in Sindh and Pakistan with Federal and Provincial ministries.
Director Health Services Karachi Division, ERU Coordinator, Gujro and WHO Representative Pakistan inaugurated COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign at Gadap Town, District East Karachi. Along with other government officers, Head of Office, WHO Sub-Office Sindh, and Team Lead, Polio, WHO Sindh were also present at the occasion.
