The budget 2021-2022 has been well received by the businessmen as the business community believes that it seems ”well balanced” but has warned of its long-term effects on the trade sector.

Once the complete finance bill has been reviewed and analysed, only then the effects on trade can be made clear and visible.

Federal Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin presented the budget 2021-2022 in the National Assembly on Friday, 11th June, amid a racket from the opposition.

Former Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) president Zubair Motiwala called it a “balanced budget”.

He said the government’s resolve to increase the tax net was a step in the right direction, as only 2.2 million people paid taxes out of a population of 220 million.
